Mr Kennedy was the founder of a private mining company which he sold to a publicly listed company. This resulted in a large liquidity event for Mr Kennedy. He deposited funds into Cape Horn’s CMA wirh ANZ. Cape Horrn’s Fixed Income team constructed two portfolios for Mr Kennedy. The first, accounting for future tax liabilities and the second to provide an income stream with capital upside.
Mr Mandela is the CIO of an Australian University Endowment Fund which has a 40% allocation to Fixed Income as it relies on a regular income stream with capital upside. He awarded the Fixed Income mandate to Cape Horn, allowing them to manage the portfolio whilst adhering to agreed parameters.
Mrs Thatcher is the CIO of a large Family Office which has a noticable exposure to alternative assets. Due to the nature of these Private Equity & Venture Capital investments, outstanding capital on behalf of the Family Office is yet to be called by the investment firms. Our Fixed Income desk constructed a portfolio to allow Mrs Thatcher’s Family Office to earn an income stream whilst meeting liquidity requirements for outstanding capital calls in both AUD and USD.
